AUDITOR II – IS SUMMARY

The Auditor II – IS is responsible to perform IT-related audit work under the general supervision of more senior IS Audit staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Perform routine IS audits under the general supervision of senior audit staff.

- Perform components of more complex audits under the direct supervision of senior audit staff.

- Evaluate the adequacy of controls in the business processes reviewed and document the evaluation using the audit department’s standard evaluation format.

- Assist in designing the audit approach and detail testing program for the audit areas assigned.

- Summarize audit results, conduct preliminary closing meetings with line management, and draft audit report.

- May participate as Internal Audit’s representative on selected cross-functional teams functioning as a controls consultant.

- Manage an assigned project, including coordinating audit planning, monitoring performance against budget, meeting expected milestones, and informing the IS Audit Manager of significant unexpected developments that impact audit performance.

- Adheres to Audit Department standards, such as maintenance of work papers.

- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation

Requirements:

- Undergraduate degree including course work in information technology or computer science, IT or equivalent.

- Three to five years of relevant work experience, of which at least one year must be in a well-structured IS audit environment.

- Familiarity with some of the newer technologies is essential.

- Desirable: CISA certification or work completed towards such certification, working knowledge of ACL and AutoAudit. Insurance or health care industry experience a plus.

- Is expected to function independently on routine audits, with minimum direction and supervision. On more complex assignments, is expected to follow general directions and function effectively without constant supervision. Good business judgment.

- Ability to conduct on-site audits at any of HPHC’s or its affiliates’ sites and vendor locations, during hours required by the assignment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Well-developed analytical ability. Good organization skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments.
